Action Required: Changes in Tenant Referencing System

We want to bring to your attention some critical changes to our tenant referencing service found in the Tenancy Builder part of our website. This transition may necessitate you taking some actions to ensure a smooth transition.

Current Tenant Referencing Scenario

Presently, the data for our tenant referencing comes via RentShield, a member of the same group that owns HomeLet referencing. HomeLet is one of the largest providers for landlords and letting agents.

Upcoming Changes

We wish to inform you that RentShield will cease operations in the forthcoming days. Following this, we have been advised to shift to another provider, which falls under the same ownership as HomeLet. Our new data source will be Let Alliance referencing.

Furthermore, we are developing a new API that will seamlessly integrate with the existing referencing system on our website.

Required Actions From Your End

This transition may require some actions concerning existing and new reports.

Existing Tenant Reports

Suppose you have used our referencing in the past. In that case, we recommend downloading any reports of interest and storing them securely on your computer with a backup if you haven't done so already.

We wish to clarify that we never download or save completed reports due to security reasons. When you download a completed report, you access it directly from RentShield.

Given that RentShield's service will be discontinued shortly, you must download any reports you wish to retain. Please be informed that post the switch to the new service, the previous reports will no longer be available for download.

New Tenant Reports

For any new reports generated, we advise that you download them promptly and save them securely on your computer, as for the next few days, they will still be made from the RentShield system.

Post the transition, reports created under the new system will be available in the referencing list, similar to the old system. However, we still recommend downloading and saving any documents produced within the Tenancy Builder (including reference reports) rather than relying on our system for long-term storage.

We wish to assure you that we are committed to ensuring a seamless transition and will do our utmost to minimise any disruption to you. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this change.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
