Question
I do not wish to contact my ex-tenant regarding the tenancy deposit, as they are very unpleasant. I have requested that the deposit be paid to me from the DPS due to rent arrears and damage to the property. 14 days have elapsed since the DPS notified them, and they have not responded. Can I obtain the monies through the statutory declaration route without contacting the tenant directly?
